The Diamond Warrior

Story: Dia returns to her homeworld, Cancri, a world of diamonds and jewelry, including one of the most rich and diverse gems used to make powerful items. Dia ran away years ago so that she would become a real woman, being she was born a boy but didn't feel right in her body. However, push comes to shove when her homeworld is invaded by witches, who wish to use Cancri's precious gems for their wicked plan of taking over the Magix Dimension. It's up to the former prince of Cancri, to fight and protect her homeworld and her family, even if it means revealing herself to her family.

Description: Dia is not really a fighter to be honest. She's like Flora of the Winx in many ways. She likes pretty things, she likes flowers and is over all, someone you wouldn't think to be a warrior. However, since she was once a prince before running off to become a woman, she was trained in combat as a boy and does know how to fight, even when she's not the best at it. Naturally, Dia doesn't do close combat all that much so she's not a sword person. A bow and arrow fits just right in her hands and is a wicked shot as fighting with a bow in training, doesn't involve hitting another person usually. So she didn't hold back in shooting targets that weren't alive. Naturally she uses a magic bow.

Outfit and picture: For her outfit, I was gonna do a simple picture of her just posing with her bow, but I felt that this wouldn't be enough. I got points marked down last time for not being detailed enough, so I wanted to app up with as much detail to her outfit and hair. So I put her in a hell scene, since the theme is of war and what's warrior outfit without the scene to match?

Her outfit is made from tough material and is based loosely on Asian warrior outfits. She's got a chest armor in middle and shoulder blades. These are made from Cancri's precious stones, including the pink diamonds in her chest. (Those aren't diamond shape holes but pink diamond gems.)  Her sleeves are kimono/hanfu like with fur as her homeworld is pretty cold. I wouldn't say it snows often, but think Canada or northern US. Put it short, Cancri is the least place you think of for a summer break, unless you're looking to beat the heat. I wanted her outfit to be warm, durable and protective, but also easy to move around in. She's also got wings. This isn't a particular fairy transformation. She just has wings because she is a fairy. Like how Stella adds wings to the Winx outfits sometimes.

Her boots are also war inspired. They got a tall, sharp heel, which in old times was used to put footing in the ground so that when a warrior shot their arrow or even hit something with their sword, they wouldn't wobble so much. Which gives also gives the fun fact that heels were meant to be battle shoes and men wore high heels before women! XD

The purple lightning are from the witches from below fighting her. I just picture her shooting from above at them. I added smoke and fire for the extra bit of dread.

Now as for the lines...I draw in pixel style mixing with other mediums most of the time. Sometimes especially for contests, I will go over the lines and make them nice and smooth. I know this isn't a favorable thing among professional artists. I just felt like I would lose detail if I did, because the lines are so small and I felt the roughness of the edge would fit with it, so I just kept that way. She's going through hell, I didn't feel the need to make it that pretty. And of course, to add more detail I added tears, scratches, the works and made her hair messy. There's even a little bit of blood, which I don't think I need to put a warning on it since it's not that gruesome.
